Original iPhone with cracked screen, worth repairing?

Is there a market for them? Or I was thinking of repairing it and turning it into an iPod touch for my kids or giving it to someone to use as an iPhone if its not worth anything on the market. I think it would be around $100 to repair.

Windows Vista, iPhone 3G

My step son had the same dilemma and just got it fixed. It does cost about $100 but it's definitely worth it. He uses it as an iPod touch and it still picks up WiFi. If you sell it for parts and get $71, what's the point? Might as well pay 29 more bucks for an iPod. Anyways, good luck. I got it fixed at a place in dallas called Dr. Cell Phone. Here's the website: http://drcellphone.com/iphone-repair-service.php

PS: Remember that if you start using it as iPod touch, you still have to put an inactive SIM card in the phone. These SIM cards are very cheap do so you do not have to pay alot of money for it.

Sarah, thanks for the reply. Currently the phone still works. I took out the SIM card completely to be able to use it. There was an inactive SIM card in it, but it wouldn't let me use the phone for anything. It just showed the icon that said it needed to be connected to iTunes or something. I took out the SIM card and it worked fine as far as an iPod and the apps worked fine too.

I checked with that Dr. Cellphone website and they wanted $174 to fix a 2G screen, but only $99 to fix a 3G screen. When I had originally looked, I only looked at a 3G screen repair. So at $174, it's not worth it.
