That crash error occurs due to duplicate plugins.
The recent Java update installed a newer version of that plugin in your HD>Library>Internet Plug-ins folder. Hence, the problem of 2 different versions of the same plug-in.
In the Finder: Your User Account>library>Internet Plug-ins folder. Move the JavaPluginCocoa plugin to the trash, then restart Safari.
If there is no plugin in the User Account, reinstall the
Java Update.
When complete, open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utilities folder, highlight your HD on the left, then "repair permissions".
Restart Safari.
