My iPhone feels like it's on fire when I try to charge it

My 16G iPhone, is less than a year old, everytime I plug it in, it is so hot it acctually is hard to touch. I treat it as if it is a Rolex... Never have I EVER dropped it, or mistreated it in any way. It is in perfect condition. Why is it getting so hot when I try to charge it?

3G, Windows XP

My first iPhone did the exact same thing! Make sure you have your mail set to push manually. Your wifi is off when not in use and that Safari is not running in the background. These things are big battery wasters. Make an appointment with a genius if you are still within your first year of owning your phone.
I took mine in, they hooked it up and within 5 minutes I was getting a brand new phone. Apple is awesome about backing up their product during the first year. Oh by the way, that second phone they gave me had the ring silencer break off not
Good Luck!

You may have a stuck app. Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

If this doesn't work, restore as new, not from a backup and then resync all your stuff. That worked well for me with 3.0 problems.
