Syncing with Outlook

Is there any way to sync the iPhone 3GS with Outlook 2000? I know 2002 and 2007 are compatible but don't want to upgrade my Office Suite.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I wonder why you don't want to upgrade your Office suite when your current suite is no longer supported by Microsoft? This means no security updates, email anti spam updates, etc.

I would think the simplest thing to do would be to upgrade. If cost is an issue, perhaps you can transfer the license from an Office 2003 suite from someone who has bought a more recent version. I'm sure you could find one on Craigslist.

ITunes cannot read the older file format of Outlook's PST file (the huge file which stores all email, contacts, etc. data used by Outlook). After 2002, Microsoft changed from ANSI to Unicode format to overcome the prior's 2GB PST file size limit (it is now 20GB)...Apple did not see fit to provide compatibility this old.

It pained me deeply, and I tried many methods before doing so, but...upgraded Outlook in the end. 2007 is not bad: uses a lot of RAM, but does have some reasonable security options and is moderately intuitive.

Outlook 2003 works fine, too - but is hard to find.
