I need a bluetooth stereo A2DP to mini plug adaptor for my "AUX" jack.

I need an adaptor that I can plug into the aux jack in my 2008.5 nissan titan to stream stereo music thru my speakers. Does such a thing exist or did I just invent it?

I have found some adaptors that plug into your phone's headphone jack, but I don't think they will receive music, only transmit.

Any thoughts?

reports suggest that pluging a stereo cable into the 3G S causes the voice control to activate, but because there is a cable in the head phone jack the phone expects to see the headphone mic. This keeps the iphone's built in mic from "listening". So you have a phone waiting for a voice command, but with no way to receive it.

Also, running a cable from the phone to the aux jack is so last century, ya know 😉 I'd rather just have a dongle that picks up A2DP right away.

You make things too complicated...... Why do you not use the AUX directly with the best audio quality? You are like mocking me who is driving a Honda Accord 2005 which DOES NOT HAVE an AUX plug! I wish I have!!!!!! Instead I'm using the lowly FM transmitter......

That's not how you should use your A2DP MAN!!!!!

Anyway, to your concern, what you need is something like a Bluetooth A2DP receiver which allows you to connect a 3.5mm stereo cable. I can guarantee you the quality is NOT as good as directly using the AUX 100% sure man!

I have the following A2DP transmitters which support custom 3.5mm stereo headphone plug:

Tritton Bluestream for $25 from buy.com
http://www.trittontechnologies.com/products/TRIBH102.html

Sony DRC-BT15 for $90 from Amazon.com or Fry's Electronics
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1055 1&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665400453

I like the Tritton Bluestream with Caller ID using the OLED screen but the audio quality is bad when it is used on other Bluetooth devices. iPhone 3GS has great quality! The reason is because it uses v1.2 not v2.0 nor v2.1 + EDR

I like the Sony DRC-BT15's connectivity and audio quality due to Bluetooth v2.0+EDR.

For any types of bluetooth receiver, your transmitter must be powerful enough and iPhone has a powerful bluetooth transmittion!

Finally, I still suggest you should just use the AUX port for BEST AUDIO QUALITY!!! AND STOP MOCKING ME..... I WANT AUX.... STUPID HONDA 2005... the 2006 model has AUX plug!!! ERRRRRR!

Use the AUX plug and a bluetooth headset! The iPhone outputs the audio to bluetooth headset in 1st priority. Don't try to be smart or "modern" using those integrated bluetooth system in your car stereo, that is so freaking dumb! No more privacy! I saw a cute girl using her iPhone and the Prius' built in bluetooth system to a make phone call. Her windows were tightly shut and I was walking on the street and still heard her every single conversation. You want to be that dumb or arrogant it's up to you.

Sorry seems english is my second language.

I do currently use a dual male 3.5mm cable from my 2G iphone to my aux jack in my truck. Works great. The bluetooth currently in my truck works for phone calls (and I don't feel arrogant using it). Works great.

Problem is: I have a 3G S waiting for me back home. This phone has a voice controller that works from the headphone mic (if the headphones are plugged in) or from the mic on the phone. People on this very forum have reported problems using a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable. Seems when you plug such a cable into a 3G S the voice control software turns on and waits for a command. No mic in the cable, mic on the phone disabled by the cable=no commands received. Get it?

My truck's bluetooth does not support A2DP. I would like to get something that does. I'm not trying to be complex. Just want to listen to some music without headphones.

Just wondering if anyone has used a bluetooth receiver with a 3.5mm male plug on it.

P.S. your honda may have an audio input (RCA) in the back. Most newer vehicles do. If you find a 12v bluetooth to RCA, you could join us lucky arrogant few (now I'm mocking you).

Man I really wish I could join the arrogant few ahahahaa!

Anyway try to search online for the two bluetooth receivers. They should work for your purpose.

And notice that iPhone 3GS currently does not support bluetooth voice control, so you don't need to worry about accidental call. Yes both Bluetooth receivers have built in mic. Go to Fry's and buy the Sony one and give it a try, you might be surprised.

And I'm still jealous about your AUX. Sigh.....

Are you using the adaptor for the 2G, the one for the recessed headphone jack?

No, a standard mini to mini plug cable like this one:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/TN986LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOQ&mco=MjE1NTkyMg

Note that it is listed as compatible with the 3GS and sold for car stereo use. There are cheaper ones available in electronic stores that work just as well.
