Carlo Scala rider Q2: problems with iPhone 3G under IPhone OS 3.O ?

I'm having the same problems with my scala rider headset with bluetooth 2.0. It will pair up, but none of the controls work from the headset. It worked fine on my blackberry pearl an it had options in the bluetooth section aswell. I hope they get this fixed. Because i have wasted 299.00 dollars and resigned up for a new 2 yr contract for nothing!! Plz fix this apple,, ty

New iPhone 3Gs 32, will couple with Scala Q2 however unable to initiate voice dial as was previously capable under other bluetooth2 phone (N95 Nokia). Annoying issue which sounds consistent with the above threads, so me three would like a solution please someone.

Ditto. Would love to be able to:

1) voice dial
2) send music to the device via bluetooth

I have just bought a iPhone 3G S 32 GB and Navigon Europe.

And it doesn't work with my new Scala Rider Q2 headset.

Extremly disappointed.

Same here.. Iphone 3GS 32G and does not work at all... They see each other, however shows "not connected". Any help?

You should all probably wait for -yet another- iPhone software update. Or, take your stuff to an Apple Genius and let them try. I believe that if the report comes from inside an AppleStore, it could be resolved faster.

I've done the most recent sw upgrade on my new 3gs, still no luck. Voice command thru Cardo Q2 will make music play and stop, but music will not come thru helmet speakers. What's the fix to bring the music into the headphone speakers?

Mine too, it pairs with the phone but will not work with the tomtom app. i now have an £80 app that i can't use for the reason i bought it. i have emailed tomtom and scala but they just tell me it's the iphone that has the problem. Has anyone found a way around this problem?

I've the same problem. My brandnew Cardo Scala Q2 is paired with my iPhone 3G OS 3.1.2 BUT only calls will transfer to the bluetooth headset. Navigation on the iPhone (CoPilot Live DACH) and streaming my music to the Q2 doesn't work. How disappointing apple. 😟

As all of you, i'm disappointed with the the iphone / scala combination, but let me make this clear - iphone is the "guilty" part not scala:
The Good: phone is pairing and working "ok", no voice dialing is possible
The Bad: no music or gps instructions can be heard in the headphones

However, everything was working fine with pre 3.0 versions of the iphone software

Yesterday, while on the phone with somebody, I've selected the ipod icon then hit play and ... what do you know, i was able to hear the song loud and clear in my headset, together with the guy i was talking to (he didn't hear the music, only me). Unfortunately the music stopped as soon as the call stopped. I was able to recreate the situation several times.

So what this proves is that, even with the 3.x version installed (A2DP), regardless of iphone generation (3G or 3gs), the headset can receive the bt music stream from the phone, but the phone is not sending it to the headset (only while a call is on)

Can somebody do something about this, it looks as a simple programming glitch or something?

I have had a Q2 for a while and has been working great. I recently purchased an iphone 3Gs 16G and just paired it with my Q2. All phone calls work well, from outgoing to incoming through my Q2.

I think for the iphone to work correctly with the Q2 you need to have the latest iphone 3Gs which includes "voice activation". To activate this feature for dialing out through the Q2 you need to tap the control button on the Q2 to activate "voice activation" on the iphone, you will then hear the connection and all you have to do is speak. To receive incoming calls through the Q2 all you have to do as per any other paired device is to say somithing ie "hello".

As for streaming music from iphone to Q2 i am not sure sorry.

Further more, ensure you have the "voice connect feature" enabled on the Q2 as per the setup and config manual. Once this is confirmed, voice dialing can only be made with a "short press of the control button" on the Q2, again as per the setup and config manual.

I know the feeling I bought an Iphone to replace my nokia n96 which worked fine with my scala rider, i have purchased a number of sat nav programes none of which seem to work so the fault is with the phone. What are Apple doing as I have 32G latest phone and software.

I mean the phone is great 3Gs 16g
but as a rider I used it for the first time today on the bike
tried buuetooth on my garmin and the scala works fine
paired or morelike tried to paire the iPhone to the scala then to the garmin
and no joy on either
I mean do apple offer a motorcycle kit?
Why the competition ?
The phone paired then decided not to after 20 seconds!!!
Tried the audio cable from the scala to listen to music and the music was way too low
could not hear a thing.....
Any solutions??
Do I have to go back to Nokia??
Shall I sell the I phone to a non biker?????
