Jun 28, 2009 7:08 PM in response to Jennifer Hensleyby PT,I have found playing from the headphone jack plays softer on car stereos and what not and while with earbuds I tend to use the volume around 1/3, when playing in my car I have to play the volume on the iPod up to about 80-90% to get "normal" levels.
So have you tried simply cranking up the volume on the iPod itself first?
When you play out of the dock connector, this doesn't work because it is a line level output and the iPod's volume control doesn't do anything. But when playing out of the headphone jack, the iPod's volume can be and should be adjusted up high.

Jun 30, 2009 3:03 PM in response to PTby Jennifer Hensley,I have the volume on both the Ipod and my TV up at 100% and it is still to soft. But I can hear something so I know the volume sort of works.
PS I get the same results on things I've ripped as well as stuff I've bought from ITunes.
