Bluetooth connection to Windows Vista

I don't believe that the iphone will sync via bluetooth. It never has in the past.

The new version allowed for bluetooth connection to wireless stereo headsets and tethering, but not for syncing - as far as I know.

The iPhone ABSOLUTELY does not support syncing over bluetooth. That is why it will not work. You must use your USB cable or a service such as MobileMe to sync wirelessly.

GUstANni is just taking about connecting his iPhone with BT, he said nothing about sync with BT.

I'm supposing he's trying to pair his iPhone to use the BT tethering feature.

I have exactly the same problem when pairing my iPhone 3GS to my Windows 7 notebook. Seems there's a missing driver and I can connect via BT to use the tethering feature.

The iPhone does not support anything higher than A2DP headset protocol (cellular to headset). It does not support BT<->PC protocol or BT<->Car/GPS Device Bluetooth Protocols.

Some phones do have this protocol from more popular brands like Sony Erricson or Motorola cellulars. You can use TomTom's "What phones can be supported with my GPS device?" section that has a list of phones that can do traffic report data streaming and phone contact lookup with voice control.

I don't know where I was looking there. Maybe I was so confused about my tethering issue that I read a different think.

I was totally convinced that I read he was trying to use tethering. Sorry!
