iPhone Configuration Utility

I have been configuring and deploying iPhones for a specific iMac workstation in IT with the iPhone Configuration Utility 2.0 installed. It now has a list of iPhones and configs from previous installs. If I want to start using a different Mac for the deployment workstation, can I easily move/relocate the iPhone Configuration Utility files to another Mac, or do I need to start over on a new Mac? Id like to retain the settings and list of iPhones from the first admin workstation for asset purposes.

Configuration profiles may be migrated to a new system using the File, Export and File, Add to Library functions in the application.

Although you can export your device data, I have not been able to get it to import using the GUI for the utility. However, you can move the data using Finder or Terminal.

Device data is located in the following location in .mobileconfig files:

/Users/your_username/Library/MobileDevice/Devices

Provided you have the same version of the iPhone Configuration Utility installed on both systems and the application is not currently open on either station, you can copy the files into the corresponding location on the new system and it will work properly.

FYI, configuration profiles are stored at:

/Users/your_username/Library/MobileDevice/Configuration Profiles
