iPhone detected but not identified properly

Question

iPhone detected but not identified properly

This is intermitent issue I faced only the past few days. I am unable to sync and the error message on iTunes is "An iPhone has been detected, but could not be identified properly." What do I do?

IBM Thinkpad, Windows XP Pro

disconnect iphone
disable your internet connection
connect iphone
see if iTunes recognizes it

Was about to join the list of peopl having problems. After disabling the Internet connection it works fine. Now, if I can just work out how to connect my Audible account!

heya, i had this problem, it was driving me crazy...

however i think i have fixed it.

Remove USB connections, and any MMC/SD/MS card reader slot.

Then open Itunes and plug in your Iphone.
It workd for me-good luck!
