Mail Messages Sent Prematurely--arrive in blackberry

When using Mac mail to compose a message, approximately every 10 seconds the message will be sent WITHOUT me pushing the send button. I'll see "outgoing message" in the message activity, whether I have anyone addressed in the to: container or not.

However, the message will only go to my blackberry and not to the email address that could have been in the message.

I am using Mail in Leopard 10.5, with an IMAP account tied to gmail. It is obnoxious that each time I type an email from Mac mail I get an email to my blackberry every 10 seconds. When typing from the gmail webpage it does not prematurely send messages to my blackberry, so I suspect it is a bug with Mac mail.

My guess is that the Blackberry is synching your Drafts folder and that's the problem.

Mail.app periodically saves emails you're writing in the Drafts folder. The frequency with which they appear on the Blackberry, along with the fact that it happens even when the email is not yet addressed bolsters this theory.

I don't use a Blackberry, so I don't know how to configure it to read/ignore specific mail folders, but that's where you need to focus. I do know Blackberry users in my company who use Mail.app and don't have this problem, so it's certainly configurable somewhere.

It might be related to the fact it's a GMail account - maybe a Blackberry/GMail integration issue.

I think you are right. Your post led me to this website

I removed gmail from my blackberry and reloaded it. Now I can get my gmail through 2 spots...my browser and also through my messages. However I still get the same problem where my blackberry pulls the draft emails before I send it.

I'll need to keep investigating the problem to see if I can get it to stop somehow. Blackberrys just don't play well with Mac (or Mac doesn't play well with BB)...maybe time for an Iphone.

It actually wasn't a BB problem. Somehow on my Mail advanced setting the "drafts" container was checked to save my drafts to the server. Therefore my BB would pull in all the draft messages each time it autosaved. Thanks for all the help.
