Impossible not to scratch bezel?

Mine is fine at the moment, I've had it in a very soft gel case since I got it. The bezel will scratch though from normal wear and tear, mine did on my old 3G. Is the case you have stiff? If so, it could have happened from case rubbing on the iPhone.

These cover the bezel for the most part so mine is still pretty good. They are a pain to apply and my corners are starting to come up a little bit but the warranty is good forever so I am not worried.

If I have one complaint about the Iphone it would be how bad it starts to show wear. My 3G looked awful on the back and the silver band. I don't like to use a case because I keep it in my pants pocket. This time I purchased a leather sleeve to protect it but I have to feel the outside materials are pretty poor.

I use a Gelaskin to protect the back and an anti-glare screen on the front. Nothing protects the bezel on mine. I keep it in my pocket when I'm out and about, or on my desk when I'm not. I do make sure that it's not sharing my pocket with anything else. I got my 3GS on opening day, and so far it has only one very small scuff mark on the bezel, near the bottom of the phone.

I treated my 3G exactly the same way. When I sold it after 10 months (to buy the 3GS), the buyer remarked that it looked brand new. There were a few very tiny scratches on the bezel, but that was it.

I'm not implying that you mistreat your phone in any way. Just saying that my experience has been different.

The bezel will scratch even if it is in a case. My 3G S has scratched on the bezel and it was put in a case the second I opened the box. This has happened to every iPhone that I have owned, 1st generation (I owned 3), 3G (I owned three) and the 3G S.

Nothing you can do besides wrapping it in plastic or not ever touching it.
