cheap fix for bent pins on iphone

my i phone isn't syncing so i take to genius bar at washington square mall in portland. guy says two or three bent pins, accidental damage, not covered by warranty, $199 for a new phone. so on a whim i go to the "fastfix" jewelry store in the mall and ask the jeweler to take a look. i tell him he doesn't have to worry about breaking it because it's already broke. he grabs it, pulls down his bionic specs, grabs some of his micro tools and fixes it in five minutes for well less than 10% of the cost of a new phone. the pins ain't perfect but it has been syncing again for several weeks without incident.
