iPhone Controller with Garageband

iPhone Controller with Garageband

Has anyone tried using a music app on the iPhone as a controller with Garageband. I saw this YouTube video:

I would love to do something like this with either a keyboard app, drum app or guitar/bass. I have the latest greatest phone (3GS) if that's helpful.

That's really helpful. Thank you. I'm learning more about those apps now. Do you happen to know if I can use iTM Matrix with Garageband? I want to map those pads to percussion sounds.

yes, it should work fine. I have not purchased ITM Matrix. I use iTM MIDI Lab (free) version which has elements of all iTM apps so you can try before you buy.

I use it to record occasionally in Garageband and Logic. Great! Follow the instructions and download iTouchMIDI on your Mac.

Does anyone know if Apple has made an iPhone/iPod Touch App that provides transport control of GarageBand and/or Logic. I don't really care about the fader controls, but it would be fantastic to have transport control and punch in/out wireless from the iPhone.

Not Apple, but iTap is a touchpad application that you can use to remote control your computer. You have to see it though since you basically tele-operate the mouse.
