Siren Sound on my Mac

Hi,

from some time now, i have a siren sound that plays randomly on my mac. I have all my software off, but still it plays. How can i find from where is coming this sound and turn it off?

HI Berto,

Open System Preferences/Sound and select the Sound Effects tab. Deselect Play user interface sound effects.

If you use Mac Mail, open Mail. From the Menu Bar select Mail/Preferences and click the General tab.
Where you see New mail sound, click the pop up menu and select None.

Hi Carolyn,

It was already deselected. I was paying attention to the sound, and it's a non stop sound, of a heart beat with a siren from time to time.

I've already run a anti-virus (just in case) and no hit (no surprise here).

Any more sugestions?
