Getting pictures OFF of my iphone and onto my PC

Hello,
I have a Dell computer that runs Windows Vista. I also have an iphone 3G. I am trying to get the 600 pictures off of my phone and onto my computer. When I go into "my computer" my iphone is not there. I have tried looking for the Scanner and Camera Wizard, but can not find where it is located on my computer. I am not sure how I can get my pictures off of my camera easily, short of buying a new Mac. If you have any suggestions that would be great. If I have to buy some software I might be willing to do that, as long as it isn't too expensive. Thanks.

Pics taken with iphone, or pics that were synced to iphone from your computer?

Pics taken with iphone are imported as with any other digital camera.

Pics synced from your computer, can be e-mailed to yourself, although the quality will not be as the original (iphone photo are optimized for viewing on iphone - reduced file size).

They are pics I took on my iphone. I can't get my computer to recognize my phone so I can download them off the phone.

The way I did it was I clicked the start menu button (windows symbol), then clicked on computer (for me it was under recent items) and it showed my iphone, then I right clicked and chose import pictures and that did the trick for me.
