When I adjust the clip speed to 200%, the audio becomes very high pitched ('Alvin and the Chipmunks' style). Is there a way to speed up a clip while keeping the pitch at a normal level? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Well, I want to keep the audio, I just don't want it to be super high-pitched. For example, in QuickTime, if you play a video at 2x speed, the audio is at 2x, but the pitch is normal.
wait...I'm not sure this will work.....just brainstorming here......what if you duplicated the footage and used it as a cutaway. The cutaway would be at 200% speed, but the audio would remain the same. You would need extra footage i think for the film to keep up with the not sped up audio.
That's a good thought, but I need the audio to sync up with the video. Think of watching someone give a speech, or an anchor reporting the news at 2x speed. The audio would have to match exactly with them sounding like a chipmunk.
but i thought you didn't want the chipmunk sound....i guess maybe it was tooo alvin sounding....sorry...at a loss. It's kinda hard to speed something up without effecting the audio along with it unless you didn't need it pinned. The only other option is to potentially extract the audio--speed that up. Speed up the sound and somehow pin it back together in precision editor.....way beyond my attention span......sorry.
