Bonjour w/Windows 7

Is there a way to get Bonjour 1.0.6 to work with Windows 7? I have a printer shared from my iBook G4 which is accessible from Windows Vista clients, but not Windows 7.

Thanks in advance.

I got it working (in may case). I have a printer connect via USB on the Airport Extreme. I tried to install Bonjour initially from the download, but them just decided to download the file to my disk and run it from there. I removed it via the control panel and reinstalled. Then, I ran the BonJour Printer Wizard from my desktop. I did have to download current printer drivers from HP first and install those, after which, Bonjour's wizard then let me choose the printer and the right drivers. So, it now works again.

You might want to check if the wizard is installed on your desktop. If not, go into the control panel and remove software, and remove Bonjour and start over.

Hope it works out for you. I now have XP Pro, Win 7 and Apple Leopard all sharing the same printers.

I actually got the 64-Bit version of Bonjour (1.0.6)to work with 64-Bit Windows 7. The problem I'm having is that when I print, the last page that I'm printing gets about half-way through printing before the printing hangs. This does not happen when printing via Bonjour on my Macbook Pro with 10.5 nor did it happen on my Windows XP 32-bit system prior to the upgrade to Windows 7. My printer is connected to an Airport Express 802.11g unit.

If any one has any suggestions on how I can get the Windows 7 configurations to reliably print, I'm more than willing to try anything.

Thanks!

Hi, latest Bonjour works!
All U have to do is find your local IP address listed in network internet access. I use an Airport Extreme so my local gateway ip is 10.0.1.1
1. Download and install latest Bonjour.
2. Open Bonjour and install your printer (U may have to find or download the drivers (drivers for Vista work just fine)).
3. Go to Control panel (Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers).
Find the printer Bonjour just installed, right click on printer and choose printer properties.
4. Find the "Ports" tab and click it.
5. Look down and U will see IP_local.9100 or something like that. Select it and click on "Configure Port".
6. "Printer Name or IP Address" box erase it and put 10.0.1.1 (if your wireless router is airport extreme).
7. If U are using a different router I suggest U invest in an airport extreme, in my experience these are solid perfomers.
8. ENJOY

Hi, Snoop Dog.
My post refers to Mickeysoft winvista7. Command prompt is not recognizing "dns-sd" as a command of any kind, after all this is windows.
I did find a page, maybe it helps:

http://books.google.com/books?id=I7TNdUszuhIC&pg=PA63&lpg=PA63&dq=dns-sd-Bpdl-datastream._tcp&source=bl&ots=Oh6DA2io9u&sig=ZNv-VTe-Msx1yY1uCXrAX4pXy5o&hl= en&ei=mlp2SpflLZCEtgeCt9mWCQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2#v=onepage&q= dns-sd%20-B%20_pdl-datastream.tcp&f=false

Good luck.

Hello datacan: Wow, what a huge fix this was. I have an Airport Extreme running at home with an Epson C88 as the network printer. We print from a few Macbooks and my wife's older Dell XP without any problem. I bought my wife a new HP laptop running Windows 7 (her work software requires windows). Installed Bonjour and newest drivers from Espon. I have learned to hook up the printer via USB first and get it to recognize, then go to Bonjour. Bonjour recognized the printer, installed it etc. but would not print to it. I did your fix, put in the Extreme IP of 10.0.1.1 and voila!!! Works. Thanks. Boy that is what I call a deep fix.
