Attention all otterbox defender for iphone owners

Hey,

I am close to geting the otterbox for my 3gs. After watching a lot of youtube on the otterbox, I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be a slit for the volume rocker switch. Can someone confirm and if that's the case, what gives?

Thanks.

So are you saying that there's no slit for it but you can still access the volume rocker switch through the rubber membrane? Also, how's the screen protector? How thick is it? What's it made of? Plastic of some sort? Also, there seems to be a complaint that it leaves a watermark of sort when pressing on the screen, etc. Any connectivity issues? Do you get good reception even with the case on?

Thanks.

I love the defender. My 2 1/2 yo son plays games on my phone so you can imagine that he could destroy it quickly. The otter box case is tough as nails. It is a pain to put on and take off, but I rarely do that. The screen protector is plastic and there is a problem with a watermark because the iphone screen sticks to the plastic screen saver. There are numerous fixes...baby powder (I don't recomment), rubbing the screen on your face to get 'face grease' and thereby causing the screens not to stick (kind of gross), using a 'nonglare' screen saver on the screen before placing it in the otter box (that's what I do) and the easiest way is to use a screen saver on the iphone screen and cut the otter box screen saver out with a sharp knife. I use the holster and don't mind it at all.

One of the only problems is that the case muffles the sound of the ringer and some people say there is an echo (mine does not echo). I pulled the water absorbant cotton hole covers out of the case and the sound is fine.

Check the otterbox website forum for other solutions to the watermark problem. If you really want to protect your iphone and don't mind a significant addition of bulkiness then this is the case you want.
