Epson Printer not detected by Airport - Unable to see it in Airport Utility

Hi,

I've sold a trouble regarding Epson SX100 usb printer connected to Airport Express.
In fact, my printer has never been detected by the Airport

This was due to the original Epson drivers, which are really poor and so is the help from apple support !!!

And no matter how many times I've reset it, It seems to refuse to detect it.
After a while, I've installed the last version of Gutenprint 5.2.4.
This has solved a lot of problems since everything works fine now.

what you have to do is to connect your printer to Airport Express, then install gutenprint.
Then, you only have to go in printer preference panel, reset all printers(this will erase all printers from the list), click on "+", then you should be able to see your printer as "bonjour" with the drivers CUPS + Gutenprint.
Add it and Enjoy!

That worked!
I was having a fit trying to get an HP LaserJet 1020 (connected by USB cable to the Airport Express Base Station) to print. I finally clicked on the Airport Utility (on the base station icon on the left) and saw that the router was not recognizing the printer. GutenPrint fixed the problem in about 5 seconds.

Thanks again,
JM
