Olympus Pen-EP1

Hello,

just switched to the new Olympus Pen-EP1. RAW format cannot be imported d by iPhoto 8.0.4, neither in the USB nor the MTP setting if I connect the camera to my MacBook. Does anybody know a workaround (except using the Olympus Software)?

kind regards

MacBook 13", Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Hi, i coded a quick'n dirty converter. Get it at public.me.com/fcvarela (converter.zip). Source code (c) included.

Usage:
Decompress the converter.zip
open terminal and move to the converter folder: cd (drag'n drop converter folder to terminal window)
type: ./convertdir path to_folderwith E-P1 ORF files

Example:
$ cd ~/Downloads/converter
$ ./convertdir ~/Desktop/folder withpictures

The script will print a line for each converted picture. It will fail and skip any ORFs which are not E-P1 files.

Again, this is just a quick hack so Preview/iPhoto can recognize them (as E-30) files until Apple releases a patch.

Drop me feedback at *****

Hi, I've just bought an Olympus E-P1 and I try to make it myself a bit easier working with it on my computer. I read about you're converter and i tried the script in Terminal. I never used terminal before and I experimented a bit with what you wrote. But this is what i get:
Last login: Thu Jan 21 15:53:54 on ttys000
Macintosh-4:~ maudvandeveire$ cd /Users/maudvandeveire/Downloads/Firefox/converter
Macintosh-4:converter maudvandeveire$ ./convertdir/Users/maudvandeveire/Desktop/test
-bash: ./convertdir/Users/maudvandeveire/Desktop/test: Not a directory
Macintosh-4:converter maudvandeveire$

Can you help me any further?
(I'm sure the path for the folder with the E-P1 files is correct because I dragged it into Terminal).

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
Thanks for answering. I think you gave me good advice. The only problem is I got a new problem. I get the message:
find: ./convert: Bad CPU type in executable
find: ./convert: Bad CPU type in executable
find: ./convert: Bad CPU type in executable
I searched the internet and I think it might have something to do with the fact that i'm working with a power pc. I don't know if you know something about this and if the problem can be helped.

Thanks,
macmoot
