Importing Copy-Protected Music

I recently bought a cd that is "Copy Protected and Pre-Ripped for PC". Although the cd is in perfect condition and is compatible with Windows, when I import the songs they can't be played. Does anyone know a way to get the songs into itunes and thus onto my ipod?

Windows XP

Does that mean that there are compressed audio files available on the CD?.
In that case, in what format are they?. (.mp3 , .wma , .aac)
I would assume that they probably are in .wma format (Windows).
Have you tried to play the songs through your Windows Media Player?.

iTunes can convert non DRM protected .wma files so that they can be played in iTunes media player. However, they need to be free from DRM protection.

Chris/Katrina: Unfortunately I can't return it as it was purchased in another country, and since the cd is from 2004 it's not likely that the company could do anything about it now.
Katrina: I'm not sure about the record label, but the security at least is from Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

Thomas: I downloaded a Sony Music Player to get the songs onto my computer, but the files are .oma and I can't move them into itunes.
