Can't hide completed tasks from to-do list

Hi all,

When I have completed a task from the to-do list in iCal, some of them still remain visible even when I have unselected the option "Show All Completed Items". Some completed items do get hidden but others are permanently visible.

Any clues to why this is and more importantly, how to hide completed tasks from the list other than by deleting them?
