I ran into a strange situation where iMovie appears to have screwed up and used the wrong photo to render numerous clips. In the timeline, however, the affected clips show the correct name of the photos, so iMovie knows which photos it should have used. Is there a way to get iMovie to render those clips again using the right photo this time?
You should trash iMovie's preference file and try again with the photos.
With iMovie closed, go to your Home folder(YourUserName)/Library/references/com.apple.imovie.plist
Drag this plist file to the trash. Don't worry. iMovie will create a new fresh one when you relaunch it.
Reopen iMovie.
See if the photos render properly now.
Post back if this does not help.
Also, be sure you have enough free space on your computer's drive for iMovie to work...usually need at least 15-20 GB.
Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that I already tried recreating one of the clips from a photo and that worked fine. I was just hoping there was a way to avoid having to find and redo each of the affected clips/photos manually.

I would think not, since you said that iMovie seemed to be 'reading' the photos correctly, but just rendering the wrong ones. Did you trash the plist file? That should help prevent this problem from recurring as you recreate the clips.
