iphone only recieves alltel/ verizon texts

I ported my alltel number to att so that i could have an iphone, a definite upgrade from my old phone, about 4 days ago and everything is working as it should except that i can only receive text messages from alltel and verizon phones. I have a few att and metro pcs friends who can receive my messages but i cannot receive their replies. Att told me to wait and let the port finalize and that in time it will get better, but this is the 5th day and it does not appear to be getting better. Do i just have to wait for the port to finalize, or is there an issue with the service? I have unlimited messaging btw.

I work with him at Best Buy and he said usually about 24 to 48 hours, but hes seen ports act weirder, like to the point of a week or even a few weeks. I've been getting more replies from some people, but nothing from anyone who's not Alltel or Verizon. I've reset the network, restored the phone, and my alltel phone has been officially disconnected now but still no incoming texts. I'll wait it out I suppose

I ported from Verizon to ATT when the 3GS came out and everything has been working fine since then. However lately I'm having trouble receiving texts from Alltel/Verizon customers. Its just started happening lately, but it sounds like an issue similar to what you guys are dealing with. They can get my texts but I can't get theirs. This is extremely frustrating because all ATT ever says is that there is no issue with their messaging system and that it must be a problem with Alltel/Verizon's network.
