imac won't boot - white screen

Ok, so now my imac won't boot. All I get is a white screen; I also can't boot from install DVD.

imac 7,1, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

HI,

The hard drive has failed. You need to take the iMac in for service.

If the hard drive has failed should you not get a folder with question mark in it,

sounds like there is another problem here.

Hi David

Try booting the Install DVD holding the Option key or run the Apple Hardware Test as described in the following Apple article > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509

Same exact thing is happening to me. I am going to try and boot in Safe Mode, I would suggest read up on dead logic boards 😟
