24" LED Display has a magnet on the outside?????

Hello,

I was going to hang my necklace on the side of my monitor when it snapped to the side. I then realized that the entire outer rim of my monitor is magnetic. Is this normal? Also, if I attach anything to it that is non magnetic (e.g. a necklace), will it hurt the monitor in any way?

Thank You,
Dak Washbrook

I took my display to the Apple Store and the Genius informed me that dust trapped under the glass has actually been a somewhat common problem with the Aluminum iMacs as well. He brought out two suction cups, took the glass off (those magnets are cool!), then ran a little roller on an adhesive pad / over the glass and that grabbed all the dust. Only took about 5 minutes or so and got rid of it all! I was very pleased."
