24" LED Display has a magnet on the outside?????

Apple displays have magnetic material glued to the glass so the glass can be held in place by magnets. Magnet fields (within reason) will not affect the display.

Respectfully, that is incorrect. Apple LED Displays do not have magnets holding the glass in place. Otherwise all these dust issues would be easy to resolve.

The only magnet in the display should be the tiny ones for the three speakers.

I took my display to the Apple Store and the Genius informed me that dust trapped under the glass has actually been a somewhat common problem with the Aluminum iMacs as well. He brought out two suction cups, took the glass off (those magnets are cool!), then ran a little roller on an adhesive pad / over the glass and that grabbed all the dust. Only took about 5 minutes or so and got rid of it all! I was very pleased."

That is funny considering the Apple Store, the AppleCare phone folks, and the Apple Cinema Display "Specialist" all disagree with that.

The second link says the 24" LED display glass retaining system is the same as the iMac.

Malcom is right, I have a 24" LED Cinema Display and the glass on it comes off the exact same as the iMacs. All you have to do is use a suction cup and pull it off.

I've taken the glass off of my 24" display with a suction cups. It does indeed have magnets holding the glass in place like the iMacs.
