Can I run a Java applet in an iPhone App?

hey all,

Well I thinking of writing a program that will help with school for my friends and I, and I current have a version of it in Java. I really want to use it on my iPhone as an app but I dont want to rewrite it since it calls classes exclusive to Java that I would have to re-create in Objective. Is there a way I can write an Objective-C program that would act kind of like a browser, and call the applet from the program itself? Or a way to combine Java into Objective-C in general?

Hi Jimmy, and welcome to the Dev Forums!

If your Java code would be happy to run on a server, an iPhone web app might work for you.

Another option: Some of us are looking for original educational app ideas. So if you think your app would be of general interest to students in your grade, you might consider adding some contact info to your forum profile. You might wind up with a piece of a best seller in addition to a free app.
