toontrack superior drummer setup?

Hi guys, just bought superior drummer 2 with ez player pro for use within logic, all installed etc. Does anyone know how to link superior drummer (the drum sampler) to ez player (the midi player), using logic's environment? So far I have:

2 software instrument tracks one with ez player running into it, the other with superior drummer on it. then I've copy pasted their channel strip objects onto the click and ports page in the environment, and connected them together.

So what I'm trying to do is drive the drum sampler with ez player pro, to audition midi loops etc, and I get no sound. I do get sound if I physically put midi reigons onto the track of my sampler in the arrange window.

ANy help would be much appreciated!

Does your new environment layer look something like this?

Then make sure EZPP's output channel is set to 10

Hey...thanks for that. Mine looks a bit simpler but works now linking the EZplayer from the big box on the left into the Superior channel strip. I sat tweaking it for a while!

I'll try the way in the picture though, thanks for that!

Is there anywhere on the net that you can get midi drum loops to put into ezplayer? There doesn't seem to be a vast amount included.

Yes, you need to use the channel splitter, so that S2 only responds to channel 10, leaving other channels unaffected.

Make sure you have downloaded all the free MIDI packs from Toontrack, and try Monster MIDI packs 1 & 2 depending on what you're looking for - they're cheap. There are a lot available from TT.

Hey - are you saying the EZ Player audio instrument *sends MIDI* out of it's channel strip, and into the SD channel strip?

I thought you couldn't get plugins to send MIDI data out of a channel strip in Logic..?

Hi Bee Jay - I should have said MIDI redirect. And I changed the graphic to remove an unnecessary cable. Not enough tea this morning…

Yes EZ player plays midi files only .. I just wire the output of ezplayer into Superior Drums.. You can find a lot of midi files on the net.. I sometimes take a standard midi file, and strip the drums out to send to Superior drums..
