Printer Access Denied Unable to Connect - Windows to Mac

Am running Leopard 10.5.7 on a Mac G4 where the printer, an HP 6200 is connected directly to the Mac. All other computers on network are Windows Vista - trying to connect the network printer (6200) on the Mac to any Windows Computer; however, when I open the printer I get the message "access denied unable to connect" even though I could see and "connect" the printer as a network printer. Any suggestions?

G4, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

From the help menu:

You can let Windows users on your local network use any printer that is connected to your computer.

If the Windows users install Bonjour for Windows, you can share your printer with them in the same way you’d share it with Mac OS X users.

Then tell the Windows users to use the Bonjour Printer Wizard to select your printer.

Or you can share your printer using SMB/CIFS, which lets you share files and folders as well as your printers.

To share your printer with Windows users via SMB/CIFS:

1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Sharing.

2. Select the Printer Sharing checkbox.

3. Select the printers you want to share.

4. Select the File Sharing checkbox.

5. If you don’t want to share a folder, select it in the Shared Folders list, and then press the Delete ➖ button below the list.

You can delete all the folders if you want to share only your printers.

6. Click Options.

7. Select “Share files and folders using SMB.”

8. Select the name of the account that will share the computer, and then enter the password for that account.
