ibook smell

I am getting a funky smell coming from my keyboard. I have cleaned the board with some canned air but it still stinks. It doesn't smell like anything burned but more like body odor (yeah, I know, "eww"). I keep my computer pretty clean and I bathe regularly, so I don't know what it can be. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Well, about this whole respect and courtesy:

I had to ring apple because my hard drive had crashed, and the woman was telling me that I had do force my computer to restart and was explaining to me where the keys are when I had already done it. I think that their service is great, but I also think that Apple should find out more about their customers and find out if they know how to do things before the explanation of great detail starts.

Jeff

P.S. There was only one member of their staff that I talked to which was like I didn't know anything, the rest treated me like one of their customers was worth something and were interested in asking me if I know how to do what they said to do.

There is a list of stuff that is in it on the site that it's on.

I don't personally use it, thought I know from expierience, it you have alcohol on the keys, when you close the lid some of the alcohol may transfer onto the screen. I know this because it happened to my mum's powerbook...

I also used a product with alcohol on my iBooks screen before I knew that it was bad for it, so when using my iBook in sunlight, I can see this permanent wipe mark on the top half of my screen. I wish I could get it off, but as yet, I have found no solution.

b If anyone knows anything about taking off that smudge, I would be forever grateful to know about it.

Did your mother allow the alcohol to dry thoroughly before closing her iBook after applying alcohol to the keyboard?

If so, I would suggest just using it on the underside of the keyboard, and, as I said to begin with, not very much, at that. Perhaps dabbed on with a Q-Tip and then wiped off with a soft cloth.

People here are having to put up with a really offensive odor. Nearly any deodorizer you would apply would have ingredients which are of questionable safety for your iBook's keyboard and/or screen. Therefore, anything you try to use should be applied very carefully and sparingly. And I would let the keyboard dry (and air out) several hours before putting it back into the iBook.

Hi Ronda,

My mum has a powerbook

and no, the lid was accidently closed while it was still wet, that is not my reall problem since my mom can't notice it until it is used in the sun, and it is very rare (once a decade) that she uses it outside...

b My real problem is that I have smudges on MY screen
(i have an ibook g3 12" 800mhz...)
b and I can't get rid of them. I realy want to get rid of the streaks on the screen since I use my computer in the sun a lot. Any help Would Be Appreciated...
