Is it possible to insert a document into another?

I would like to insert a document into another document without cutting and pasting. That is, to "insert" it into the present document. I have been unable to find that option. Is it possible?

My experience is that you can only insert .pdf, .rtf and .rtfd files. You can go to Insert menu and at the bottom choose Choose or use shift + command + V.

So, Apple lets us insert other developers documents into Pages documents, but not Pages documents into Pages documents. That makes a lot of sense…

Maybe you are familiar with AppleWorks? It has the function inserting it own documents. But AW isn't any longer supported by Apple.

If you change the word "supported" to "being developed" you will be accurate. AW is still supported in 10.5.7.

It would seem a logical function, though Pages is in essence a $30.00 program so it's not going to have all the features one might wish. You can submit feedback to Apple on the issue here, though:
