My iPhone has been charging all night and its battery's still dead

Last night, my iPhone ran out of battery power, so I plugged it in. It displayed a Red empty battery with a lightning bolt on the screen. I left it charging all night, and this morning, it is still displaying the same image. When I unplug it, it dies, and I can not start it while it is plugged in or when I unplug it. I tried restarting it with no luck. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

What's it plugged in to? Note that it won't charge from your computer when it goes to sleep.

With it plugged in to power, try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

That happened to my iPod before. It probably means your battery has reached its limit of recharge cycles, and is dead. Your only option is to get the battery replaced by Apple. How old is your iPhone?

It's about 6 months old. I contacted Apple and they said it's a problem where the phone is constantly checking emails and is not allowing the phone to charge (I don't understand how, as the phone is powered off while charging), but that's what they said. Luckily, it still has its warranty, and Apple is working with me to resolve this.

Dude your issue could easily be resolved by performing a hard reset. Holding your home button & power button (same sleep/wake button)down together at the same time till you see a white apple logo appear. Connect your iphone to the wall power source before doing so. Then let the iphone get a full charge before using.

You also might of notice that iphone is warm to touch or even hot. That is because the battery is not functioning and is not charging or being discharged. The hard reset will resolve that issue.

My phone was plugged into the wall all night. I tried reseting it while it was plugged in and everything with no luck. My phone is 100% unresponsive to resets and anything else I try.
