9cc: MsiExec.exe Application Error Memory Could Not Be Written on Install

During installation the following error occurs:

9cc: MsiExec.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x3ff084a2" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be written.

Completely removed and cleaned up Quicktime and tried a reinstall, and it does the same thing.

The install completes, but then Quicktime does not funciton.

Tyan AMD Athlon 2800+, Windows XP Pro, 2GB RAM

You probably just have a old msi file from a previous QT installation that needs to be removed.
I'd remove QT again from the add\remove control panel. Then do a search of the computer and remove any left over files or folders that the uninstall didn't get, including QuickTime qts and QuickTimeVR qtx from C:\WINDOWS\system32.
Then run this program to remove any old QT installer information and give it another try.
