Re-naming the bluetooth device on my iPhone

Hi
I'm a new owner of the iPhone 3GS and just discovered that my bluetooth device on the iPhone is given the name/ID of "iPhone". Can someone help guide me on how this can be changed to a preferred name/ID?

Hi, I believe the name "iPhone" given to my iPhone bluetooth is a generic name. I pair my iphone to my car's bluetooth in order to receive and make calls via the car entertainment system. The system can pair up to 15 phones, so if I have more than one iphone in the car with the same name "iPhone", it will not be able to identify which phone is being connected to the car bluetooth. The system identifies each phone by a name that I assigned.

I had been able to assign a name to my Nokia phone. So although 2 Nokia phones have been paired to the car's bluetooth, because they are named differently, the car's bluetooth is able to detect and display the name of the phone that is connected and in use.

I have ploughed through the iPhone User Guide and although it mentions about pairing the iphone to the car's bluetooth, it doesn't mention how I can re-name my iphone bluetooth. Can anyone help? Thanks.
