moving .dll files from Windows 'CakeWalk' to Mac's 'Logic'

I use to use Sonars Cakewalk Home Studio when I had windows. Now that I got a mac, i purchased Logic. There was a sweet thing in Cakewalk that was called SessionDrummer2, which was just like a soft synth thing where you could just plug in on a piano roll, or play on the keyboard, and it was a really good sounding drum machine.

it's a .dll file

how do i install this 'sessiondrummer2' into logic so that i can use it on logic instead of cakewalk

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

There are lots of facilities for drums already in Logic, so there's no need to install this software. Have a look at Ultrabeat & EXS24 for drums. You can also use the Piano Roll & Hyper Edit editors for drum programming. Besides, from the sound of it, your software is for Windows — so you can't run that on a Mac without a lot of variables getting sorted first…

yes, but i have a problem with working with really crapy 'midi' sounding drums that give me no options to customize it what so ever.

not only does every single one of those drums in Logic Express 8 suck completely and sound nothing like a realistic set of drums, but i can't individually edit each single highhat or bass kick or snare

in SessionDrummer2 from Cakewalk, it give me an extremely realistic sounding drum kit with every possible set i would ever want for drums.

and when i record on a piano roll or on my keyboard, after i have recorded it, i can individually mix each track. i have a whole track for the bass kick, a whole track for the snare, a whole track for each symbol. and then from that i can edit just the bass kick, so i can add effects into only the bass kick and not any other part of the drum.

so for someone who just wants a half assed drum kit, yea, those midi drums in logic are great, but for someone who actually wants professional quality and control over their drums, i want SessionDrummer2

*this comment was only addressing the fact that there is a reason why i want to see how i can move this .dll file that has SessionDrummer2 from my Windows program Cakewalk HomeStudio to Mac's Logic Express 8 program. Please don't continue to discuss the importance of this drum machine, but help me figure out a way to get this .dll file to work properly with Logic. Thank you!

You cannot run a Windows application natively in OS X - PERIOD.

As a former Cakewalk Home Studio owner/user myself, it is apparent that you have not played with LE8 to the level you think you have.

Ultrabeat eclipses Session Drummer 2 in terms of features, sound quality and programmability. Ultrabeat was part of Logic Pro prior to v. 8.

Before you embarrass yourself further, spend some time watching Ultrabeat tutorials by sflogicninja on Youtube:

As I said above (& others have confirmed), you simply cannot run Windows software in a Mac OS X application.

However, I understand that SessionDrummer 2 is available for Mac, so your best bet is probably to investigate this angle. It would mean a new purchase or perhaps a crossgrade, of course.

I suggested Ultrabeat because… well, frankly… it's better, & more sophisticated. But different people like different things.
