'Select all' in iPhone email inbox

Hi all, is there any way to 'Select all' the message sin my email inbox on the iPhone (in the same way that once I've put messages in the Trash that I can 'Delete all')?

It seems odd that I have to individually tap each message to select it when I know that all I want to do is empty my Inbox!
