Stream iTunes Movies to Roku Box

Does anyone know if its possible to stream movies i have stored on my iMac (which i have loaded into the iTunes Library) to my Roku Box via my wireless network? It would be nice not having to have both a Roku Box and an Apple TV in my AV cabinet.

No, it's not possible. Roku doesn't offer any ability to stream user owned content.

And frankly, the two boxes serve other different functions. With the Roku, you can stream NetFlix and download movies from Amazon. The ATV offers downloads from iTunes, syncing or streaming from iTunes, functions as AirTunes speakers (one of my favorites), plays music, displays photos.

Given that both are smaller than a hardback book, I personally don't have a problem with having them both.

Best of luck.

You can watch content from your Mac if you are willing to install Plex. See this post:

However you can't watch DRM protected content you purchased from Apple and can't browse or buy content from Apple through Roku.

Do you realize that you're replying to a thread that hasn't seen any activity in almost 4 years? The OP hasn't been seen in these parts for about 2 years.
