IBM L190 External Monitor

How do I get my IBM L190 external monitor to function correctly with my 1 year old MacBook Pro? I plug it in using the adapter, but can't get a sharp screen I want to appear?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Hi jdd you should use the best resolution possible in your monitor that is 1280x1024 only then you will hqve a sharp image in your monitor, but as you can notice this resolution is lower than the one in your macbook display.

Did you ever solve the jumping cursor in Entourage 2008? I have a friend experiencing a jumping cursor when Entourage is running. Sorry for interrupting this thread.
