Embedding an iCal calendar in an iWeb page

I'm designing a website to accompany the chemistry classes I teach. *I would like to embed the class calendar I made using iCal into one of the pages on my site. Is there a way to do this?*

I was trying to do the same thing yesterday. I looked all around the internet for some help but had a hard time figuring it out. I ended up importing my ical into a google calendar and uploaded the google one using the widgets device. Just make sure that when you upload to the google calendar, you change the time zone to what ever zone you are in (the default is no time zone). I realized this too late, and changed all the times, what a pain!

There is a way to do it but it won't fit very nicely. What you do is use an HTML snippet with iFrame code:

<iframe height="XXX px" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:XXX px;border:none" src="URL to page to be embedded"></iframe>

You will have to adjust the height and width values to match the published iCal calendar. Since you can't resize the published iCal calendar it will be pretty big.

A Google calendar, on the other hand, can be resized and made to fix whatever size on the page you want. Like this demo page: Google calendar

There are applications that will sync iCal calendars with Google calendars.

I just figured out how to do this, and I had a hard time figuring out the instructions here.

At Google.com, I found a tutorial on adding a Google Calendar in iCal that will publish to Google (integrates with all the categories on ical, you can see everything, but only publishes to the web what is on the iCal Google Calendar.:

Then I found the tutorial for embedding the published Google Calendar in the iweb page.

I hope this makes it even easier for the next guy 😉
