An Alternative to Toast Titanum

Does anyone know an alternative to Toast? I can't believe it's $179!

What are you trying to do? Applications included free with a Mac can do most of what Toast does. iTunes can burn MP3 and audio CDs. Finder can burn data CDs and DVDs (Mac and PC compatible). Disk Utility can copy data and video DVDs, and data CDs. iDVD can create video DVDs.

I'm trying to burn DVD Videos... Also I want to add subtitles to them, is FFMpeg the best and only app for that?

Where on Earth did you find it for $179? Even at Roxio's own web site, you can get the Pro version for $129 (after mailing in for the $20 rebate).

If you look around, you can get it pretty cheap. Start out by buying Toast 10 Titanium for $62 with free shipping. With the $20 rebate, it's $42. Then purchase the blu-ray plugin for $20 from Roxio in order to author blu-ray video with the Titanium version. Grand total, $62.

If you want all of the features in the Pro version, you can get that for $93.50 after the rebate. The Pro version will do blu-ray authoring without having to purchase the plugin separately.
