Playing song for callers when they call

I have the iPhone 3G S, and I thought I saw somewhere that you can have a song play for the caller when they call you. So, instead of them hearing the phone ringing they hear a song play for them. Is this true? If so, how do I pick the song and assign it to a contact?

Check with your provider to see if they offer this. Personally, I'd rather just hear the phone ring.

Ring tone ≠ Wait tone. The OP is asking about Wait Tones - those are only available through the carrier.

Yes, i am looking for wait tones, not ring tones. I will check with AT&T to see if that option is available. Thanks!

AT&T's name for this is Answer Tones.

There is a small monthly fee, and each answer tone purchased is licensed for a year. You can use one answer tone from 8-5 M-F, and another answer tone from 5PM until 8AM, or use a different answer tone on the weekends, or specifiy purchased answer tones by individual contacts.
