Iphone and Pioneer car radio..... poor compatibility

Hi everyone,
Just wanted everyone to know that I just installed a new Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD head unit in my wife's vehicle. I also bought the iPod cable and the CD-BTB200 Bluetooth module for the setup.

iPhone WILL NOT auto connect with the Pioneer bluetooth module! I can get it to pair and connect one time, but when the car is shut off and restarted, it won't connect.
To make things worse, I have to tell the iPhone to "forget device" and go through several steps to get the thing to reconnect.
This thing is not an option for bluetooth if you get in and out of the car often. It is a MAJOR PITA and too much trouble for my Wife to even use it.

One positive note.... if you manage to get the thing paired and connected it works well. The streaming audio from the iPhone is great. Until you shut off the car.

If anyone finds a solution for me please let me know.

BTW I contacted Pioneer about this and they say that it's the 3.0 software. In my car I have a Motorolla hands free unit that works perfectly with the iphone. THis leaves me thinking that it's a Pioneer problem.

I have a Pioneer aftermarket navi/stereo unit that worked perfectly with my iPhone before I upgraded to 3.0.

Since then, it won't recognize my phone even after resetting, restarting, and attempting to repair the devices. I'm told that this is a known bug but no one knows whether Pioneer or Apple may provide a fix.

Warning to anyone who hasn't upgraded their phones yet! 😟

Ok, sotty, i'm very noob. I go in function menu, register the iphone, and now when i take the car put on the bt on iphone (with sbsetting), put on the car and after 14-16 seconds i can use all the function with the pioneer car stereo. Great!

The only problem is that if i try to charge the contacts on the pioneer the iphone disconect from the unit... but it's very most easy to call using the touch of the iphone.

I repeat, i have 3.0.1 firmware.
