Safari is blurry with increased font and maps don't work...
When I increase the font within Safari 4.0.2, everything gets very blurry, even the pics. I'm using 1920x1200 for my display setting. Also, when I use google maps, the zoom in and zoom out feature is all jumbled together and messed up. Also, with Bing Maps (MSN maps) the "drag the map" function doesn't work properly. Aside form the coolness of Top Sites, this version of Safari has been a complete disaster. Here is another problem... when I post to Craigslist, when I receive my confirmation email to finalize the posting and click on it, Safari tries to go to the page but it is just a blank page. I have to use Firefox to get it to work. This version of Safari is garbage. Can I get back to Safari 3?

You mean when you zoom? Then don't zoom!
Those who for some reason do not want to continue using the fastest, safest version of Safari (4.0.2) and want to revert back to an older version, rather than find out how to correct their faulty system, can do so by performing an archive and install:
"Then don't zoom" Klaus? I've been zooming for 7 years with my mac without issues, and your fix is don't zoom? It reminds me of when I took my Chevy back to the dealership when the 4 wheel drive was broken and the car was under warranty. They said, "then don't use the 4WD!"
My God, help us all if Apple has become GM.
I'm glad Safari 4.0.2 is working GREAT for you. Congrats!
When zooming a page the text shouldn't get blurry. Texts in a web page are basically victor images. Victor images don't blur when enlarge because they don't have a fixed size.
On the other hand graphic images like maps, photos will become blurry when enlarge, because they are not victor images have have a fixed size. You see this all the time with photos when you "get info" for the image, size 280x120. So when you enlarge an image in a web page that is 280 pixels by 180 pixels to (for example) three time it's size, 840x540 it's going to get blurry. The resolution for the image just isn't there.
Ok, all that being said...
After clicking the enlarge tab in Safari Tool bar the text in this discussion enlarges and is not blurry. But the wording Apple Discussing becomes blurry because it is not text but an image. You can in Safari enlarge the text only. Menu-->View-->Zoom Text Only. I have my monitor set to 1920x1080.
Can you post an URL where the texts becomes blurry?
Thanks DMB. Yes, you are correct. The text is not blurry... my fault. I guess it's that on the past when you used the increase font button on the toolbar, it would only increase the text font. Now it increases everything. Maybe I never realized how little text was on the screen at any given time. It still looks shoddy. However, that doesn't explain the other issues I'm having with google maps and Bing maps, and craigslist. I called Apple today and they said I should go back to Adobe internet plugin version 9 instead of the current version 10. Not sure if that'll help or not. Very typically of tech companies though... pushing the blame off to others.
No don't go back to an old version of Flash. I have no idea why they suggested that. Maybe it was the only thing they could this of doing. (Sounds good to me it sounds good to you.) That's only going to give compatible problems with other Flash sites. And all your going to have is an old outdated version of Flash. Google maps don't use flash anyway. Were on Google maps are you having problems?
The Craigslist email problem. I've seen this before. It may be the way the auto emailer makes a link. I (myself) would go to the page directly. I just stop using the link in the email.
As for the Bing maps, I'll take a look. I should pop over there anyway. It's a Microsoft thing...do you think!
Thanks DMB. On google maps, the zoom in / zoom out bar on the top left is all jumbled together and messed up (about 75% of the time). Bing is pretty slick. I've used it since it was MSN Maps. They give you a nice "birds eye view" satellite shot that gives 4 directional views of your subject property. To see the different views, click on the circular arrows on the top left.
