MacBook Pro (late 2008 model) num lock is on

There is no num lock key anymore, yet the MacBook Pro periodically decides the num lock is on, and the number keys (1-9) don't work.

I have tried Function key f6 with no joy, as well as every combination of shift, option, command Function F6 I could think of. Still no joy.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Paul,

Not familiar with what specifically disable the numeric row on your keyboard. Can you make a new user and see if the issue persists there? If it doesn't then there's a user specific plist we're troubleshooting. If the issue does persist in a new user I'm inclined to believe a framework in the OS got messed up or potentially a hardware-to-software issue.

If you launch the keyboard viewer from the International preference pane does it register the keys as being responsive when pressed?
