Does motion have a face blur effect (like they use on reality tv shows)

Here's a really fast method an Apple demo guy showed me at NAB a few years ago:

1) Add a Circle Blur filter to the footage.
2) Move the center point of the blur to cover the face, adjust the radius and blur amount.
3) Right-click on the center point in the canvas, choose "Track".
4) Drag the tracker point to a good spot (like an eye), then click Analyze.

You'll have a tracker attached to the center of the circle blur effect. Quick and easy!

Off the top of my head, how about this:
1. Take footage into Motion.
2. Use the Analyze Motion to track motion of the face.
3. Duplicate the layer, add a gaussian blur & pump up values of the blur to make image as blurry as you like.
4. Then add a mask to the blurred layer to just blur out the area you want, and use Match Move on the mask to follow the motion analysis you did in step 1.

What version of Motion has these features, im using Motion 2, I can't find a "track" option when I right-click on the center point of the circle blur. Also where would I find the "Analyze" option. I have a feeling this is in only newer versions of Motion

Motion tracking came in version 3, so yeah, Motion 2 can't do it.

What you COULD do is set up the blurred mask on frame one, turn on recording, then jump ahead through the video every 10 frames or so (or whereever there fast movement) and set keyframes.

this method is great. i think there is a filter that will pixelate as well. You can set the level of pixelation to your desired level of protection.
