For some reason, my Text Edit app has been corrupted. Permissions repair won't fix it. So I need to reload. I have Pacifist, but I can't locate the Text Edit app on the disc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction short of reloading the OS?

enter Text Edit in Pacifist search window and it will find it.

Thanks. It probably would have helped if I didn't put a space between "Text" and "Edit"

    Hi Jim,

Text edit is an application built into the Mac OS X. So if you do not have Text Edit then you will need to rebuild OS. There is no option like installing the components of the OS with Mac. I know this is what we all don't want to do. But there is no other quick fix for this. Also Performing an A&I will not lose the data. However before all that I would like to get some clarification as follows.

You wrore : Text Edit app has been corrupted. Permissions repair won't fix it

    1. What are the other steps you tried?
    2. What exactly you mean by corrupted?
    3. Did you test the issue in a new user? If yes, what was the result.

    Regards,
