Logic 9: Intel Mac recommended or required?

Logic 9: Intel Mac recommended or required? Would love to upgrade, but can't yet afford a new Mac - anyone know if it can run on a G5 at all?

G5, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

As a PPC Owner I'm mad as ****. I'm ordering SONAR 8 tonight for my new KILLER Vista laptop I just bought. Windows 7 is almost here and I'll become a SONAR dude. My PPC G5 works great - hard to believe Apple considers it OBSOLETE especially after spending almost $2000 on it with extended warranty, etc.

First it's the NEW OS now it's LOGIC 9 - I've had enough. I'll continue to use Logic 8 on my OLD Mac and most likely become a fluent SONAR 8 user... enough is enough Apple - I didn't quit you - YOU QUIT ME. So be it... There's a whole lot more new stuff being released for Windows that Mac anyways - there's a whole slew of new FREE amp sims, etc., that are DLL plug-ins (no AU support) so I'll be fine without having to go out and buy a new G5.

They don't make OS9 apps any more either.

Apple haven't made a PPC machine for many years, and have for a year or more announced they will be transitioning away from old architectures.

It doesn't stop your G5 from working, or helping you make music, and your Logic 8 will go on working just fine. If you want to move forward, you'll have to move forward. Like I did, when they killed Logic on the Atari ST. And then killed Logic on the PC.

But no ones forcing you to move forward now. Unless having the latest and greatest is important to you - if so, then it's going to cost... shrugs

I really hope we don't see a massive b*tchfest online about this (though I suspect we will). I understand why people are annoyed, but it's not like it wasn't expected for some time now...
