LaserWriter 12/640 PS

What is the best was to get one of these on my Ethernet Network? If that's not possible, how do I get it connect to an Intel Powerbook running Leopard? Thanks!

PowerBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.7), Running Leopard

Your printer is a member of the class of Apple LaserWriter Printers with Ethernet and Built-in LPD:

LaserWriter 8500 (Ethernet)
LaserWriter 12/640 PS (Ethernet)
Color LaserWriter 12/660 PS (Ethernet)
Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS (Ethernet)
LaserWriter 16/600PS (Ethernet)
LaserWriter Pro 810 (Ethernet)

Once connected to a port on your Router, this network printer can allow access to all its features using AppleTalk-over-Ethernet, and/or most features using LPR/LPD (aka Internet Printing).

Use with AppleTalk requires you to turn on AppleTalk for each computer, in the System Preferences > Network pane that controls the port that connects it to the Router (typically Ethernet, sometimes Airport).

Use with LPR/LPD may require assigning a fixed Ethernet address to the printer, and knowing what that address is when you go to Add the Printer.
