Registry Errors After Update. - iTunesMiniPlayer.dll

I updated iTunes last night(July 23) and it was working fine until, I started my computer up this morning. It said iTunes was missing some files and I was told to Re-Install it. While doing so I got this error message "Module C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesMiniPlayer.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147023782. Contact your support personnel." I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but it doesn't seem to work and I kept getting the same message.

I've had iTunes since 2005 and never had problems with it. Did anyone else have this problem and how do I fix it?

I had the same issue listed above. I read the other suggestions posted here. They are right! AVG is determining itunesminiplayer.dll is a trojan incorrectly. I too uninstalled AVG 8.5, re installed itunes, and it worked perfectly again. I then re-installed AVG 8.5 free. As soon as AVG was up and running, itunes gave me the same error. To continue to use AVG and run itunes you need to open AVG, go to "components" select "manage exceptions" then "add path", then browse to the folder containing itunes (usually c:\Program File\itunes\, press "add path" then apply. Once you do this itunes will run properly with AVG still installed and running. It must be some glitch with AVG. This should solve the problem until AVG corrects the issue on their end.

If you are getting this error there is no need to uninstall or reinstall anything. Just add the itunes folder to the managed exceptions in AVG and it will work fine. Hope this helps. I was about to go crazy here.

The same damned thing happened to me yesterday as well! Dthor's advice worked, for which I am very thankful. I took AVG 8.5 off my hard drive, ran a registry cleaner, then reinstalled my itunes. Itunes worked perfectly, so then I reinstalled my purchased version of AVG, using my license key. The reinstalled version was 8.0, whereas I purchased 8.5 1/2 a year ago, so I think they realize there is something wrong with their program, as some of you have suspected. I liked AVG until 2 days ago.
